Why Idli?

Off course, why idli after all? Why the world has become fascinated about a steamed white ball kind of a food? So, what is so special about idli? We know what you are thinking… This is the same set of question even Chef Shajahan Mohamed Abdul’s (Founder) friends and family questioned him when he wanted to start a idli business above everything else! “Idli has been our favourite breakfast during my childhood. My grandmother used to prepare best of vegetarian recipes as she had the cultural influence of all the regions of South India. The traditional methods of preparations were the interesting aspects of the cooking technique and that’s used to mesmerize me whenever I end up helping my grandmother in her kitchen.  Later when I became a Chef, I used to use modern cooking techniques to create world class recipes. The amalgamation of childhood knowledge which I gained from my grandmother and later when I became a Michelin Star Chef, was an amazing gift which a Chef Entrepreneur would ask for!” Chef Shajahan M ABDUL.

Chef Abdul knew 10 years back that the world is moving towards better life style. Even though junk food was on the rise, there were certain sects of foodies who were interested in nutritious food options. That’s when Mr. Idli was born!
